Arsenal Finalising Signing of Swedish Striker, Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon, in €73.5 million Deal

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the breakthrough on Tuesday, declaring his trademark phrase: “Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, here we go!” He revealed that a full verbal agreement has been reached between all parties involved, bringing the long-anticipated transfer closer to completion.
According to Romano, the Gunners will pay Sporting an initial €63.5 million, with an additional €10 million structured in performance-related add-ons. Gyökeres is expected to sign a five-year contract with the North London club.
The 27-year-old Sweden international is coming off an outstanding season with Sporting Lisbon, where he caught the attention of several top European clubs with his prolific goal-scoring form and powerful presence in the attack. However, Romano noted that Gyökeres had only one destination in mind.
“He only wanted Arsenal,” the Italian journalist reported, suggesting the striker was determined to join Mikel Arteta’s side despite interest from other clubs.
Further reports indicate that Gyökeres’ agent agreed to reduce his commission demands to help facilitate the deal, highlighting the player’s strong desire to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
The transfer marks a major attacking reinforcement for Arsenal, who narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season and are looking to bolster their squad for another push at domestic and European success.
Arsenal are expected to officially announce the signing once the player completes his medical and final paperwork in the coming days.
