2027: Nigerians Will Judge All Political Parties by Track Record,.Says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has declared that it remains confident of electoral success in 2027, asserting that Nigerians will vote based on track records and tangible achievements rather than propaganda or emotional outbursts from the opposition. In a statement issued Tuesday, the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, criticised a press release from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which claimed that “no patriotic Nigerian will vote for APC in 2027.” Oladejo described the statement as politically charged and deliberately misleading, accusing the PDP of attempting to smear the APC’s image. “The APC categorically rejects this attempt to misrepresent the millions of patriotic Nigerians who support us. As 2027 approaches, we are confident that Nigerians will judge all parties not by propaganda or emotional outbursts, but by track records, sincerity of purpose, and the capacity to lead. On all these counts, the APC will stand tall,” Oladejo said. He stressed that patriotism is not defined by party affiliations, but by a firm commitment to national growth, unity, and democratic values. According to him, the APC has over the years demonstrated this commitment through reforms in infrastructure, digital economy, agriculture, and social investment programs that, he said, even critics cannot ignore. “To assert that no patriotic Nigerian would vote for APC in 2027 is not only presumptuous but deeply insulting to the intelligence of the electorate,” Oladejo added. The PDP had earlier intensified its criticism of the APC and President Bola Tinubu’s government, with its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, describing the APC as a “bad market.” He claimed that the ruling party had failed Nigerians in key areas of governance, including the economy, insecurity, and welfare, and that no Nigerian who truly cares about the country’s progress would support the APC in the next election. The APC, in response, accused the PDP of lacking credibility and political cohesion, maintaining that Nigerians are already seeing the impact of ongoing reforms introduced by President Tinubu’s administration. As political alignments and campaign activities begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 general elections, both ruling and opposition parties are intensifying their efforts to sway public perception and secure the confidence of the electorate.
