SON Lauds Tinubu for Appointing Inuwa as Governing Council Chairman

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Alhaji Yahuza Ado Inuwa as the Chairman of the organisation’s Governing Council, describing the move as timely and strategic for national development.

In an official statement issued on Sunday, the Management of SON expressed deep appreciation to the Federal Government, noting that Inuwa’s appointment comes at a critical juncture as the organisation intensifies its campaign for quality assurance, industrial competitiveness, and adherence to global standardisation benchmarks.

“Alhaji Inuwa brings to SON a wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and an unflinching commitment to national development,” the statement read.

The Director General/Chief Executive of SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, conveyed the organisation’s optimism regarding the new leadership. According to him, Inuwa’s tenure is expected to further consolidate SON’s mandate in safeguarding lives, promoting Made-in-Nigeria products, and supporting the federal government’s quality-driven economic agenda.

Dr. Okeke also noted that the new Governing Council, under Inuwa’s leadership, would play a pivotal role in enhancing the implementation of the “Nigeria First” policy, a key pillar in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

“We are confident that with Alhaji Inuwa at the helm, SON will continue to build a safer, more productive, and standards-compliant Nigeria,” he stated.

The management further reiterated its commitment to working closely with the new Chairman and the entire council in advancing the nation’s standardisation and industrial innovation objectives.

“Once again, congratulations to Alhaji Yahuza Ado Inuwa. We wish him a successful and impactful tenure,” the statement concluded.

It would be recalled that Alhaji Inuwa was among several individuals recently appointed by President Tinubu to serve on the Governing Council of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria as part of a broader effort to reposition key federal agencies for optimal performance.
