Napoli’s Demand for 20% Share of Osimhen’s Future Sale Stalls Galatasaray’s Move to Buy Him

Galatasaray’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen has hit a snag as Napoli insists on a 20% cut of any future sale fee as part of the proposed €75 million permanent transfer.

The Italian club’s demand has added another layer of complexity to the negotiations, which have been ongoing for some time.

According to reports, Napoli wants the full €35 million remainder paid by the end of 2026, plus the percentage of any future transfer fee. Galatasaray has offered to pay €40 million upfront with another €35 million in installments, but Napoli has rejected this proposal. Instead, the Partenopei are holding out for €55 million up front with the remaining €20 million to be paid in installments.

Osimhen has made it clear that he wants to join Galatasaray, and has even handed in a medical certificate to avoid attending Napoli’s pre-season training. The 26-year-old striker spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 official appearances.

The Nigeria international has also rejected approaches from Al-Hilal, having already turned down a €30 million-a-year offer from the Saudi Pro League club in June. Negotiations between Galatasaray and Napoli are expected to continue, with both parties eager to complete the deal.

However, Napoli’s demands for payment guarantees and a letter of credit are complicating matters beyond just having the €75 million available.

The Turkish club has agreed to meet the full asking price for Osimhen, but the payment structure and sell-on clause are proving to be major sticking points.

As the transfer saga continues to drag on, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain. Will Galatasaray be able to meet Napoli’s demands and secure the striker’s services, or will the deal ultimately fall through? Only time will tell.
