David Mark Cautions Presidency Might Exploit Judiciary to Undermine ADC’s Progress for 2027

LThe Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has voiced concerns over alleged intentions by the current administration to leverage the judiciary to impede the party’s burgeoning momentum.

This caution was expressed in Abuja during a visit by the ADC’s National Legal Support Group, headed by Abdullahi Abdurrahman.

During the assembly, Abdurrahman revealed that no fewer than 310 lawyers have pledged their support to defend the party in all ongoing and prospective legal battles throughout Nigeria.

He mentioned that the legal team boasts representation in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), fully equipped to confront any legal challenges the ADC might encounter.

The party’s legal ensemble includes distinguished legal luminaries such as the ADC’s Legal Adviser, Barrister Peter Oyewole; former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN); and former Edo State Governor and legal academic, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor.

“We stand ready to address any legal issues that may arise against the ADC anywhere in the nation,” Abdurrahman asserted.

He further expressed the team’s confidence in the current leadership’s capability to revitalize the party and significantly contribute to national advancement.

Abdurrahman also lauded Senator Mark for his integrity, urging him to employ his experience and statesmanship to steer the ADC towards national eminence.

He appealed to the party’s Legal Adviser to furnish the necessary documents and updates on legal affairs to enhance the team’s efficacy.

In response, Barrister Oyewole assured the assembly that all legal protocols concerning the recent coalition that established the new ADC were meticulously adhered to.

“There is no reason for concern,” he affirmed.

“ADC is the party to reckon with in 2027. The current administration might resort to judicial measures to hamper our progress,” he cautioned.

He implored Nigerians to endorse the ADC as a credible and patriotic alternative to propel the nation forward.

Mark also lauded the legal team for their unwavering dedication, encouraging them to remain vigilant and proactive as the party positions itself as a formidable contender in the forthcoming general elections.

With an expanding grassroots presence and a robust legal framework, the ADC declares its readiness to uphold its vision and participate in the 2027 political contest.
