3 ADC Members Drag David Mark, Aregbesola to Court, Wants Them Sacked as Interim Party Chairman

A court case has been filed by three members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) seeking to nullify the appointments of Senator David Mark and former Governor Rauf Aregbesola as interim leaders of the party.

The plaintiffs, Adeyemi Emmanuel, Ayodeji Victor Tolu, and Haruna Ismaila, claim that the appointments were made in violation of the ADC constitution and a standing court judgment.

Aregbesola has spoken out about his fallout with the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party he helped build, saying that those who know his value and worth have given him a new position, and he is not concerned about the noise from his detractors.

The former governor also addressed speculations about Senator Ademola Adeleke’s possible defection to the APC, saying that it is obvious that Adeleke is decamping, and the ADC will meet him in Abere, adding that the party will win the Osun governorship race in 2026.

Aregbesola criticized the current federal administration, blaming it for growing economic hardship. He stated that the government that makes Nigerians go hungry should not be in power again and that anyone who says Nigeria is better now is part of the problem.

The ADC’s interim national leadership, led by Mark and Aregbesola, is facing challenges from within the party, with some members questioning the legitimacy of their appointments. The court case is likely to further complicate the party’s internal dynamics and its chances in the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
