From Victory to Responsibility: Bambam Congratulates Apapa Newly Elected Leaders

Honourable Bambam has extended his congratulations to the newly elected Chairman of Apapa Constituency 1, Hon. Idowu Sebanjo, and the Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Constituency 2, Hon. Wale Jimoh, following their well-earned victory in the just concluded Lagos local government elections held on Saturday, the 12th of July, 2025.

He also warmly congratulated the seven councillors elected in Apapa-Iganmu Constituency 2 and the five councillors in Apapa Constituency 1, wishing them a tenure marked by impactful leadership and service to the people.

Speaking with Unfiltered Reporting shortly after the announcement of results, Hon. Bamidele emphasized that the people have made their choice and are now looking up to the new leaders to translate campaign promises into tangible governance outcomes. He urged the chairmen and councillors to prioritize good governance, efficient service delivery, and people-oriented leadership.

“I congratulate Hon. Idowu Sebanjo, Hon. Wale Jimoh, and all our councillors. The people are looking up to you not just for promises but for governance that truly touches lives at the grassroots. Our communities deserve access to quality education, healthcare, better roads, job opportunities, and social welfare. This is the time to deliver,” Bambam said.

He further highlighted the importance of security and development at the local level, reiterating a core principle he has consistently championed.

“When it is well with the people locally, it will be well nationally,” he stated. “If security is guaranteed at the local level, the nation becomes safer. When development reaches the grassroots, when people feel secure in their streets, have food on their tables, and access to basic services, the burden on the federal government reduces and the nation will grow in peace and prosperity.”

Hon. Bambam called on the newly elected officials to view their victory not merely as a celebration, but as a solemn call to service. He encouraged them to work closely with community leaders, artisans, youth, and all stakeholders to foster unity, drive development, and strengthen security across Apapa-Iganmu.

“We expect nothing less than transformational leadership,” he added. “This is the time to build legacies that will outlive campaigns.”
