Ibom Air Projects Profit Haul of N150 Billion in 2025 after Returning N96 Billion Last Year

Ibom Air is targeting a profit of ₦150 billion in 2025, building on its impressive ₦96 billion revenue in 2024.

According to the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, George Uriesi, six percent of the 2024 profit came from travel agents across Nigeria. Uriesi made this known at the Ibom Air Travel Agents Forum in Lagos, highlighting the airline’s growth and efforts to transform the airline business in the country.

The airline has made significant strides in recent years, including a remarkable financial turnaround. In 2024, Ibom Air posted a revenue of ₦96 billion and a net profit of ₦6.8 billion, after suffering a net loss of ₦8.7 billion in 2023.

This improvement was attributed to the airline’s resilience and strategic management, despite challenges posed by the naira’s fluctuation against the US dollar.

Ibom Air is expanding its operations to new destinations, including Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, Douala, Cameroon, and Sao Tome and Principe, from its terminal in Uyo, which will serve as a hub when completed. The airline is also working to enhance its customer service, including reserving an aircraft on the ground to handle flight disruptions and cancellations.

Furthermore, Ibom Air plans to join the General Distribution System before the end of 2025, which will enhance its global visibility and allow travel agents to access its products from anywhere. The airline’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility, which is set to be commissioned soon, is expected to play a significant role in its growth and sustainability.
