Linda Yaccarino Resigns as CEO of X

Linda Yaccarino has tendered her resignation as Chief Executive Officer of X, the social media platform under the proprietorship of American billionaire Elon Musk.
Having assumed the role in June 2023, Yaccarino disclosed her decision to step down through a post on X on Wednesday, expressing gratitude toward Musk for the privilege of leading the enterprise.
“When @elonmusk and I initially conversed about his vision for X, I realized it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to execute the extraordinary mission of this company,” she penned.
“I am deeply appreciative of his confidence in me to uphold free speech, revitalize the company, and metamorphose X into the Everything App.”
Yaccarino, however, refrained from elucidating the rationale behind her resignation or whether she would be pursuing another position.
During Yaccarino’s tenure, X launched new functionalities such as Community Notes, a crowdsourced fact-checking tool, and unveiled plans for X Money, a digital payment service.
Her departure coincides with Musk’s prior announcement regarding the integration of X into xAI, his artificial intelligence endeavor.
Prior to her engagement with X, Yaccarino held the position of advertising executive at NBCUniversal and previously served on a US presidential council for sports and nutrition.
Musk, who continues as CEO of xAI and Chairman of X, has yet to appoint a successor.
