In addition to the changes at 3SC, Governor Makinde also approved the appointment of Adeyinka Adeniyi as his new Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS). Adeniyi’s appointment comes on the heels of the resignation of the former DCoS, Fola Oyekunle, who stepped down from his position after clinching the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025.

The governor’s twin announcements are seen as part of an ongoing effort to reposition both his administration and critical institutions in the state ahead of key political and sporting milestones.

The decision to dissolve the 3SC board and appoint a new leadership is expected to invigorate the club’s operations, especially as stakeholders have in recent months called for reforms to improve the team’s performance and management.

Meanwhile, political analysts view the appointment of Adeyinka Adeniyi as a strategic move, ensuring continuity and efficiency within the governor’s inner circle as election season approaches.

Governor Makinde is expected to swear in the new appointees in the coming days.
