Shuhu Sani Preaches Staying with Current Power Block than Political Porting
Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has taken a swipe at certain political leaders, warning Nigerians to be wary of deceptive messiahs.
In a sharply worded statement posted on social media, Sani metaphorically questioned the integrity of those positioning themselves as national saviors.
“If those are the men that will lead you to the promised land, you are safer in Egypt,” he said. “When you are being chased by a tiger, you don’t seek refuge in the clan of hyenas.”
The former senator’s remarks are seen by many as a critique of the political class, especially ahead of upcoming elections and coalition movements. Though he did not mention names, the timing and tone of the comment suggest a broad disapproval of both old and emerging power blocs promising change without credibility.
Sani, known for his candor and literary wit, often uses metaphor to highlight the dangers of misplaced trust in leadership. His “Tiger and Hyenas” analogy warns against replacing one form of danger with an even worse alternative.
The statement has sparked debate online, with some applauding his honesty while others called for more direct action against those he criticizes.
Political observers say Sani’s voice continues to resonate, particularly among young Nigerians disillusioned with traditional political figures and parties.
