Report to Your UBE Posts Makinde Orders Teachers not Absolved into TESCOM

The Oyo State Government has directed 202 teachers who were not absorbed into the Post-Primary Schools Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) to report back to their Local Government Universal Basic Education Authorities (LGUBEAs) immediately. Failure to comply may result in salary withholding.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, emphasized that these teachers’ refusal to report to their LGUBEAs means their appointments are not regularized. He noted that Governor Seyi Makinde had previously instructed the non-absorbed teachers to return to OYOSUBEB.

Dr. Adeniran also highlighted the importance of community participation in education, announcing the launch of the School-Based Management Committee-School Improvement Programme (SBMC-SIP). This initiative aims to improve access to quality education and promote equity in basic education provision in Nigeria.

The OYOSUBEB chairman appealed to Education Secretaries to monitor the project’s progress in their respective LGUBEAs. The government has begun compiling the names of the affected teachers and their LGUBEAs, emphasizing the need for compliance with the governor’s directive.
