Man Hides in Ceiling Overnight to Hack FCMB System

A dramatic incident unfolded at a First City Monument Bank (FCMB) branch in Lagos, Nigeria, where a young man was caught hiding in the bank’s ceiling.
The suspect allegedly entered the bank during business hours, locked himself in the restroom, and climbed into the ceiling, where he remained hidden until the next morning.
When bank staff arrived, they found the main entrance locked from the inside, prompting them to force the door open. Upon entering, they discovered the suspect attempting to tamper with the bank’s internal systems, with some computer screens displaying unusual messages like “restarting click ok to accept”.
Security operatives were called, and the suspect was apprehended and reportedly subjected to physical assault, as seen in a viral video.
The footage shows the suspect being dragged out of the ceiling, beaten, and tied up with a rope.
The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the unprofessional conduct of the security officers involved, promising a thorough investigation.
FCMB has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
