Former Kwara Governor, Cornelius Adebayo to Be Buried October
The final rites for former Kwara State Governor, Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, have been scheduled for October 11, 2025.
This announcement was made on Wednesday by family representatives in the Oke-Onigbin community, situated in the Isin Local Government Area of the state.
The selected date, according to the family, was determined after consultations with key stakeholders, including officials at both the federal and state levels.
Reports indicate that Chief Adebayo passed away last Wednesday at the age of 84 in his residence in Abuja.
A revered statesman, Adebayo served not only as governor of Kwara State but also as Nigeria’s former Minister of Transport and Communications.
He hailed from the Oke-Onigbin community in Isin LGA, where preparations are underway to accord him a dignified farewell.
