You’re a South African, Not a U.S Citizen, Trump Tells Elon Musk

On Tuesday (Monday night in the United States), President Donald Trump retaliated against billionaire Elon Musk, cautioning that without American government subsidies, the Tesla CEO might “likely return to South Africa.”

In a missive on Truth Social, Trump declared, “Elon Musk was well aware, long before he fervently endorsed my presidency, that I staunchly opposed the EV Mandate. It is ludicrous and was consistently a pivotal aspect of my campaign. Electric vehicles are acceptable, but it is unreasonable to compel everyone to own one.”

Furthermore, the President proposed that DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, previously helmed by Musk, should now scrutinize the magnitude of subsidies directed toward Musk’s enterprises.

“Perhaps DOGE should conduct a thorough examination? SUBSTANTIAL SAVINGS AWAIT!” Trump remarked.

This development follows Musk’s intensification of his criticism towards President Trump’s “grand, illustrious bill,” which he labeled as “political suicide for the Republican Party.”

Musk also threatened to inaugurate a new political faction should the bill be approved by the US Senate. “If this absurd spending bill is enacted, the America Party shall be established the very next day. Our nation requires an alternative to the Democrat-Republican duopoly so that the populace genuinely has a VOICE,” he asserted in another statement.
