University of Kashere Commends FG for Instituting NELFUND

The Federal University of Kashere has commended the Federal Government for establishing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has positively impacted thousands of students.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Umaru Pate, over 8,200 students from the university have benefited from the fund, with the government investing over N1 billion.

Pate highlighted that the NELFUND program has been a game-changer, providing financial support to students and covering service charges and monthly upkeep. He expressed confidence that more students would benefit from the program.

The university’s convocation ceremony saw 6,870 students graduating, with 91 achieving first-class honors. The breakdown of the graduates’ performance shows a significant number of students earning second-class degrees, with a notable disparity in the number of male and female graduates.
