CAC Deploys AI-Driven Portal, Promises 30-Minute Business Registration
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has officially launched a pilot Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered registration portal, promising to cut company registration time to just 30 minutes.
The announcement was made by the Registrar-General and CEO of the Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, during the 2025 CAC Stakeholders’ Forum held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The new portal is designed to streamline the registration process, improve user experience, and eliminate bureaucratic delays that have historically hindered business formation in the country.
According to Magaji, the AI-powered platform will offer an intuitive interface capable of guiding users through the entire registration process in real-time, validating inputs, flagging errors, and automatically processing approvals without human intervention—thereby ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
“This innovation aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to promote a digitally driven economy, enhance the ease of doing business, and attract foreign and local investments,” Magaji stated.
He further revealed that the AI portal has been rolled out on a pilot basis and is expected to be fully deployed nationwide following successful testing and feedback from stakeholders.
Industry experts and business leaders in attendance at the forum lauded the initiative, noting that faster business registration will significantly boost entrepreneurship, reduce bottlenecks, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in global ease-of-doing-business rankings.
The CAC’s move represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation efforts and is expected to provide a major boost to SMEs, startups, and investors seeking swift access to formal business recognition.
Magaji reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to leveraging technology in advancing transparency, efficiency, and accountability in corporate governance.
