Natasha Docked for Alleged Cybercrime Against Akpabio, Bello, Granted Bail

Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been granted bail on self-recognition by the Federal High Court in Abuja. She was arraigned on six counts bordering on alleged cybercrime against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
The lawmaker pleaded not guilty to the charges and was accompanied to court by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, human rights activist Aisha Yesufu, and several supporters.
Her counsel, Roland Otaru (SAN), had applied for bail, arguing that she was a Senator and a senior member of the bar.
Justice Mohammed Umar adjourned the case to September 22, 2025, for the commencement of trial. This is the lawmaker’s second arraignment within the last two weeks, with the previous one being on June 19, 2025, at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court for alleged defamation.
The charges against Akpoti-Uduaghan stem from allegations she made on a live television program, accusing Akpabio and Bello of plotting her assassination.
The Nigerian Government, through the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, instituted the lawsuit bordering on cybercrime against the Senator.
