Email on Peter Obi’s Nomination as Atiku’s VP Candidate Stirs Controversy

A controversy has erupted over an email purportedly sent by Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, in 2018.

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, released the email, which was allegedly sent by Peter Obi on October 8, 2018.

The email’s authenticity has sparked debate, with Omokri claiming it is genuine and challenging Obi to deny it. If Obi denies the email’s authenticity, Omokri has threatened to release more evidence.

The timing of the email is notable, as it was sent just four days before Peter Obi’s announcement as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate on October 12, 2018. Omokri’s decision to release the email appears to be in response to being called a liar by a Peter Obi supporter on a popular podcast.
