Support President Tinubu Beyond Ethnic, Religious Considerations, Oba of Benin Appeals to Governors

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has called on state governors to support President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to promote peace and unity across Nigeria, transcending political, religious, and ethnic divides.
The monarch made this appeal during a meeting with governors elected on the All Progressives Congress platform at his palace in Benin City, Edo State.
The Oba praised President Tinubu’s commitment to uniting the country, despite facing intense scrutiny. He noted that every leader, including those in developed nations, faces opposition from various quarters, emphasizing the need for collective support.
The royal father also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for giving traditional institutions in the state the respect and recognition they deserve. Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, assured the Oba that Okpebholo would fulfill his campaign promises, focusing on poverty reduction and infrastructure development.
The meeting was attended by APC senators and two cabinet members from Tinubu’s administration, highlighting the significance of the Oba’s call for unity and support.
The Oba’s appeal underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting peace and unity in Nigeria.
