Shettima Announces Nationwide Tree-Planting Campaign to Combat Environmental Degradation

Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced that Nigeria will initiate a nationwide tree-planting campaign during the forthcoming rainy season as part of its renewed push toward reforestation and environmental sustainability.

The Vice President made this known as the federal government intensifies efforts to combat the effects of deforestation, desertification, and climate change across the country.

The initiative, which is expected to roll out in collaboration with state governments and environmental stakeholders, is part of Nigeria’s broader climate resilience agenda.
