President Tinubu Pledges to Tackle ‘One-Chance’ Operators with New Bus Terminals

President Bola Tinubu has assured residents of the Federal Capital Territory that his administration is committed to addressing the issue of ‘one-chance’ operators through reforms in public transport infrastructure.

The President made this commitment during the inauguration of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja, which was attended by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on his behalf.

Tinubu stated that the new terminal, along with the previously commissioned Mabushi terminal, would bring an end to chaotic public transportation in the capital.

He emphasized that the terminals align with global best practices in sustainable urban development and would transform the lives of residents.

The President commended Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for his efficient use of public funds and thanked the National Assembly for their support.

Wike, in his address, revealed that the terminal would be managed by private individuals to ensure its sustainability, rather than being run by the government.

According to Wike, private management would allow for proper maintenance and generate revenue for the government.

The inauguration of the Kugbo Bus Terminal is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s efforts to revitalize infrastructure and enhance security and efficiency in the country.
