APC’s Ukachukwu Launches Ward-Level Campaign to Capture Anambra Governorship Seat
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has unveiled an ambitious grassroots-driven campaign strategy ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election, with the party’s flagbearer, Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu, expressing confidence in securing victory through deep local engagement.
Ukachukwu made this known on Thursday during the official inauguration of 52 grassroots support groups at the APC State Secretariat in Awka.
The groups are drawn from across the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, and are tasked with mobilising voters from the grassroots upward starting at the ward and polling unit levels.
“Our campaign will be rooted in every local government,” Ukachukwu declared. “From there, we will move to the 326 wards and then to all of the 5,720 polling units in Anambra State.”
He emphasized that winning the election will depend not on abstract strategies but on results at the most local levels. “Don’t give me a strategy to win the state,” he told party members and group coordinators.
“Give me the strategy to win your wards and polling units. That’s where the real victory starts.”
The move signals a departure from top-down campaign models, with the APC seeking to penetrate communities, engage voters directly, and build loyalty through localized outreach.
Political observers believe the grassroots strategy may give the APC an edge in a state traditionally dominated by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), particularly if the support groups succeed in translating local influence into votes.
Ukachukwu’s campaign approach comes amid growing interest in the Anambra governorship race, with parties jostling to consolidate support across all tiers of the electorate.
As the campaign season heats up, the APC’s emphasis on polling-unit victory may redefine the tone and structure of political mobilisation in the state.
