MultiChoice Nigeria Slashes DStv Decoder Price by 50%
MultiChoice Nigeria has announced a 50 per cent reduction in the price of its DStv decoder, lowering it from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000 in an effort to attract more subscribers amid rising economic pressures and increasing market competition.
The company confirmed the price cut on Tuesday as part of a new promotional campaign aimed at expanding access to its satellite television service.
The offer includes a DStv HD decoder, satellite dish, and one-month Compact package subscription.
According to MultiChoice, the move is intended to ease the financial burden on customers and give more Nigerian households the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of television content, including sports, entertainment, news, and children’s programming.
The announcement comes as many Nigerians face growing economic challenges, with inflation and high living costs affecting household spending patterns.
MultiChoice has also faced criticism in recent months over subscription fee increases, prompting intervention from regulatory bodies and calls for more affordable options.
Though the company did not state how long the new pricing will last, it encouraged interested customers to take advantage of the reduced price while the offer remains available.
