Defections Linked to Tinubu’s Failures – SDP’s Adebayo

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has attributed the recent wave of defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the failures of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to Adebayo, the increasing number of politicians jumping ship is a direct result of poor governance, and he believes that only genuine good governance can reverse the trend. He emphasized that when leadership fails to meet the needs of the people, political actors tend to shift allegiances in search of relevance and survival.

Adebayo expressed confidence in the SDP’s ability to offer a credible alternative to the current ruling party. He reiterated the SDP’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, noting that the party’s ideals are rooted in constitutional values and aimed at benefiting the entire populace, not just the elite.

Criticizing the Tinubu administration, Adebayo said that despite the president’s political experience, his government has so far failed to provide basic services, ensure stability, or guarantee security for citizens. He described President Tinubu’s recent comments on defections as politically motivated and disconnected from the real issues affecting Nigerians.

He also restated the SDP’s resolve to build a people-centered government focused on education, healthcare, infrastructure, and sustainable economic development. Adebayo concluded by saying that the SDP’s vision and principles would continue to resonate with Nigerians seeking meaningful change.
