Ajiboye Takes El-Rufai To the Cleaners, Says He’s Rabble-rouser

In a dramatic turn of events, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), appeared on Arise TV’s Right of Reply segment with Charles Aniagolu, delivering a withering critique of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
El-Rufai, known for his outspoken and often divisive comments, had earlier appeared on the show, spewing a cocktail of revisionist delusions, political tap-dancing, and unsolicited self-exoneration.
However, Otunba Ajiboye was having none of it, calmly dissecting El-Rufai’s verbal gymnastics and offering facts where the ex-governor had peddled fiction.
Ajiboye described El-Rufai as a “rabble rouser” who has no reputation and is deficient in character, citing his tumultuous tenure as governor of Kaduna State, where he was voted out of confidence by the state’s House of Assembly. The NICO Executive Secretary also questioned El-Rufai’s confidence in claiming to control Northern Nigeria, asking, “Who gave him that confidence that he’s Mr. Right in Nigeria and what he says makes meaning?”
The scathing rebuke came after El-Rufai’s earlier comments, which Ajiboye characterized as a “dance of Makaba,” a reference to the ex-governor’s perceived self-aggrandizement and lack of self-awareness. Ajiboye also accused El-Rufai of suffering from “ego infliction,” stating that the day he recognizes that not everything has to go his way is the day he will gain some wisdom.
The exchange has sparked a heated debate about the role of politicians like El-Rufai in shaping the country’s narrative and the need for fact-based discourse. Otunba Ajiboye’s appearance on Arise TV was a much-needed dose of reason in a sea of revisionist delusions. It’s time for politicians like El-Rufai to be held accountable for their actions and words.”
