Pezeshkian, Iranian President Announces Ceasefire with Israel

In a surprise announcement, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared the “end of the 12-day war” imposed by Israel, bringing a sense of relief to the region.

The announcement was made in a message to the nation, carried by the official IRNA news agency, on Tuesday.

According to President Pezeshkian, the “heroic resistance” of the Iranian nation has led to the establishment of a truce, marking the end of the conflict. “Today, after the heroic resistance of our great nation, whose determination makes history, we are witnessing the establishment of a truce and the ending of this 12-day war imposed by the adventurism and provocation” of Israel, he said.

The 12-day war, which began on June 13, was sparked by Israel’s concerns over Iran’s alleged nuclear ambitions.

Israel had stated that its military campaign was aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, a claim that Tehran has consistently denied.

The announcement of the truce has raised hopes for a lasting peace in the region, although details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

The international community has been watching the situation closely, with many calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

As the region begins to breathe a sigh of relief, questions remain about the terms of the truce and the future of relations between Iran and Israel.

The Iranian government has yet to provide further details on the agreement, but the announcement marks a significant development in the ongoing tensions between the two nations.

The United Nations and other international organizations have welcomed the announcement, calling for continued diplomacy and cooperation to ensure a lasting peace in the region.

As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the end of the 12-day war marks a crucial step towards a more stable and peaceful Middle East.
