Gallant Warns of Retaliation as Israel Accuses Iran of Breaking Ceasefire

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has issued a stark warning to Iran, accusing the Islamic Republic of violating the current ceasefire agreement and vowing that Israel will “respond forcefully” to any further provocation.

Gallant’s remarks come amid a new wave of tensions in the Middle East, following suspected drone and rocket attacks allegedly launched by Iran-backed militias operating near Israeli borders. The Israeli military has since heightened its alert level and is reportedly preparing for a potential escalation.

Speaking at a press briefing, Gallant stressed the gravity of the situation and reaffirmed Israel’s readiness to act.

“Iran has once again shown bad faith. Our forces are on high alert, and we will act decisively to protect our citizens,” Gallant declared.

Images from recent attack sites show widespread devastation, with emergency responders pulling survivors from collapsed buildings. The humanitarian toll continues to rise, drawing concern from global leaders and aid organizations.

The international community has urged both sides to de-escalate, but fears of a broader regional conflict remain. This latest development is part of a long-standing power struggle between Israel and Iran, often fought through proxy battles in Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza.
