Tragedy in France: Gunmen Kill Bride, Injure Groom and Child During Wedding Night Ambush
What was meant to be a night of joy turned into a scene of horror in the quiet southeastern French village of Goult, when masked gunmen opened fire on a newlywed couple and their family, killing the bride and leaving the groom, a young child, and another family member critically injured.
According to French authorities, the attack occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, shortly after the wedding festivities had ended. The newlyweds and several relatives were leaving the venue when a group of four masked men in a Volkswagen Golf 8 intercepted their vehicle.
Without warning, the assailants opened fire, fatally striking the 27-year-old bride. The groom, his sister, and a 13-year-old boy who was also in the car sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
In the midst of the chaos, the driver of the victims’ car attempted to flee, ramming the attackers. The impact reportedly killed one of the gunmen, while the other three fled the scene on foot and are still at large.
