PDP Acting Chairman Slams Party’s Publicity Secretary Over Unauthorized Comments

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Umar Iliya Damagum, has distanced the party from recent comments made by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, regarding the party’s scheduled NEC meeting and communications from INEC.

According to Damagum , Ologunagba’s comments were unauthorized and did not reflect the party’s official position.

He emphasized that the party would address the concerns raised in INEC’s letter in a scheduled meeting with INEC Chairman on June 24, 2025.

Damagum lamented that Ologunagba’s actions were premature and disregarded the party’s internal processes, stressing that the party’s strength lies in unity, discipline, and adherence to due process.

He assured party faithful and the public that the PDP leadership is committed to resolving the matter responsibly and transparently, and that the 100th NEC meeting would be conducted in accordance with constitutional provisions and democratic norms.
