Iran condemns US and Israeli Airstrikes on Nuclear Sites, Vows Retaliation

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has condemned recent airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling the attacks a “significant escalation” and a blatant act of aggression. Speaking on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Istanbul, Araghchi warned that Iran would respond by all means necessary.

According to the minister, the strikes targeted key nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The U.S. military, under President Donald Trump’s directive, reportedly launched the strikes in support of Israel’s ongoing campaign against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

“These actions reflect a complete disregard for diplomacy,” Araghchi stated. “Any talk of returning to negotiations under these conditions is irrelevant. We will not sit idle while our sovereignty is under attack.”

He also announced plans to travel to Moscow on Sunday for high-level talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the recent developments will be a central topic of discussion.

The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization echoed Araghchi’s condemnation, asserting that the strikes would not deter Iran’s nuclear advancement. It also disclosed intentions to pursue legal action in international forums to defend Iran’s rights.

The situation has sparked international concern. The European Union has urged all parties to exercise restraint, warning that further escalation could destabilize the region. While the U.S. claims the strikes are intended to degrade Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and analysts warn that military pressure may only harden Tehran’s resolve and potentially accelerate its nuclear ambitions.

As tensions mount, Iran has threatened retaliatory measures against both Washington and Tel Aviv, heightening fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East.
