Dahiru Mangal Donates Over N80 Million for Urology Surgeries in Katsina State

Renowned philanthropist Alhaji Dahiru Mangal has donated over N80 million through his charitable arm, the Mangal Foundation, to sponsor urology surgeries and treatment for 3,000 vulnerable patients across Katsina State.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Husaaini Kabir, a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, said the ongoing medical outreach seeks to ease the financial burden of healthcare on the state’s most underprivileged residents. He revealed that more than 3,000 patients had already benefited from ten prior medical missions organized by the foundation.
For the current second-quarter outreach, over N20 million has been earmarked specifically to fund surgical procedures for over 100 patients suffering from urological conditions. In addition to surgeries, individuals who do not require operations will receive free consultations, screenings, and medications.
Kabir stressed that the initiative is part of the Mangal Foundation’s corporate social responsibility, with a focus on healthcare support for the most marginalized communities. Screening is currently ongoing at Amadi Rimi Orthopaedic Hospital, located in Batagarawa Local Government Area.
A well-equipped team of medical professionals has been mobilized for the program, and the foundation has ensured the availability of high-quality drugs and medical equipment.
One of the beneficiaries, Mallam Adamu Aliyu, an employee of Katsina State Polytechnic, expressed heartfelt gratitude, explaining that he could not afford the surgery on his own. He called on government bodies, private institutions, and affluent individuals to emulate Alhaji Mangal’s generosity, which he described as life-saving.
Founded in 2016, the Mangal Foundation focuses on humanitarian services, including healthcare, economic empowerment, education, and community development. It has previously sponsored surgeries for eye conditions, hernias, and hydroceles, benefiting thousands across the region.
