Bombing Iran: President Trump Gambles On Force Over Diplomacy
President Donald Trump has once again adopted a hardline stance on Iran, ordering fresh airstrikes that have intensified tensions in the Middle East. In a bold move described by critics as a gamble, Trump bypassed diplomatic avenues, striking targets in Iran said to be linked to its military infrastructure.
The airstrikes, carried out overnight, have drawn condemnation from Tehran and sparked international concern about escalating conflict in the already volatile region. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called the strikes “an act of war” and vowed retaliation.
President Trump, however, defended the action, claiming diplomacy with Iran had failed and accusing the regime of continuing to fund terrorist groups and enrich uranium in defiance of international agreements. “We chose strength over appeasement,” he told reporters at a press briefing.
The White House has not confirmed the number of casualties or specific targets hit, but multiple explosions were reported in major Iranian cities.
The United Nations has called for restraint, warning that further military escalation could destabilize global markets and peace efforts.
