Iran Balks at Negotiation for Ceasefire, Surrender while Being Pounded

Iran has refused to engage in negotiations with the United States while under attack from Israel, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The country’s stance remains firm that diplomacy and dialogue are not options until the aggression ceases. This development comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with both countries exchanging attacks and rhetoric.
The conflict escalated after Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, targeting top military officials and damaging key infrastructure.
In response, Iran vowed to “open the gates of hell” and has since launched missile strikes against Israel.
The situation has raised fears of a wider conflict, with mounting casualties and expanding targets.
Regional mediators, including Qatar and Oman, have been involved in attempts to facilitate talks between the US and Iran.
However, Iran has conveyed to these mediators that it will only pursue serious negotiations once it completes its response to Israeli aggression.
The US has reportedly vetoed Israel’s plan to eliminate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, emphasizing that killing political leaders should not be an option.
European diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with Iranian officials set to meet with European counterparts in Geneva to discuss potential negotiations.
Meanwhile, the situation on the ground remains volatile, with both countries intensifying their attacks and causing significant damage and loss of life.
