FA Fines Tottenham Hotspur £75,000 for Failed Crowd Control

Tottenham Hotspur has been fined £75,000 by the Football Association (FA) for crowd control breaches during their Premier League match against Manchester United on September 29, 2024.
The fine was imposed due to homophobic chants from Tottenham fans, which were deemed unacceptable and in breach of FA rules.
The incident occurred during the 49th and 79th minutes of the match, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Tottenham at Old Trafford. The FA charged the club with two breaches of FA Rule E21, related to improper conduct and crowd control regulations.
Tottenham admitted to both charges and initially faced a £150,000 fine and a warning. However, the fine was reduced to £75,000 after the club’s successful appeal.
The FA’s decision highlights their commitment to maintaining respectful fan conduct and enforcing their rules.
This incident is part of a broader effort by the FA to combat discriminatory behavior in football.
Tottenham has emphasized the importance of creating a safe environment for fans and upholding high standards of conduct. The club’s next Premier League match is scheduled against Burnley on August 16, 2025.
