EFCC Declares Man Wanted Over N976 Million Fuel Subsidy Scam
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a Nigerian man, Abdul Afeez Olarenwaju Olabisi, wanted over his alleged involvement in N976 million fuel subsidy scam.
In a statement released by the EFCC and signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the anti-graft agency confirmed that the suspect absconded after being granted bail while on trial before the Lagos State High Court.
Olabisi, who was standing trial for financial crimes linked to fraudulent fuel subsidy claims, failed to appear in court, prompting the commission to issue a wanted notice. His photo and personal details have since been circulated by the EFCC in a bid to locate and apprehend him.
The EFCC has urged the public to provide any useful information about the suspect’s whereabouts to the nearest EFCC office or through its official communication channels.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that individuals involved in large-scale financial fraud are brought to justice, particularly in the ongoing effort to recover looted public funds and clean up the subsidy regime.
