Woman Found Allegedly Strangled in Abuja Hotel

A lady known as Aldi Johnson has reportedly been strangled within a hotel in Abuja.

A witness, identified as Ifeanyi, mentioned that the woman checked into the hotel situated on 3rd Avenue, Gwarimpa on Monday night, accompanied by a young man whose identity remains unknown.

He stated that the woman was discovered lifeless on Tuesday morning after a hotel cleaner attempted to clean the room but found the door locked from the outside.

The cleaner, who knocked several times without receiving a response, promptly informed a staff member who forced the door open and found the woman with her hands bound behind her back.

He noted that her mouth was also gagged with a small cloth, and the hotel staff recorded the scene on his phone before notifying the police.

The source reported that the police subsequently arrived at the hotel and transported her body to the morgue.

Meanwhile, the FCT police command spokeswoman, SP Adeh Josephine, confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary investigations revealed the victim, later identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, a female from Benue State, checked into the hotel on 16th June, 2025, accompanied by an unidentified male who was later seen leaving the premises without her.

She confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital for medical assessment.

“And while the investigation is ongoing, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, urged the public to remain calm and allow the police to conduct a thorough inquiry,” she stated.

She advised young women to exercise caution in their interactions, particularly with unfamiliar individuals, and to always share their whereabouts with trusted friends or family members for safety reasons.
