Christian Pilgrims Commission Bars Nigerians from Israel over War with Iran

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has announced the suspension of all Christian pilgrimages to Israel until the conflict between Israel and Iran is resolved.
This decision follows the escalation of tensions between the two countries on June 13, which has made it unsafe for pilgrims to travel to Israel.
NCPC Executive Secretary, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, clarified that there are currently no Nigerian Christian pilgrims in Israel, as the 2024 main pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan concluded in March 2025.
Adegbite assured that the Commission is closely monitoring the situation and will resume pilgrimage activities when the crisis is resolved.
The NCPC prioritizes the safety and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims and will not compromise on their security. The Commission’s decision aims to protect pilgrims from potential risks associated with the ongoing conflict.
The suspension of pilgrimages to Israel is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of pilgrims. The NCPC will review the situation and provide updates on when pilgrimages can resume.
