Obi Advocates Paradigm Shift in Nigeria’s Leadership Selection Process

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has called for a paradigm shift in Nigeria’s leadership selection process.

Obi emphasized that effective leadership hinges on four critical elements: competence, capacity, character, and compassion.

He lamented the prevalence of tribal and religious considerations in leadership choices, which have severely impacted the country.

Obi urged citizens to prioritize leaders with the aforementioned qualities, citing recent tragedies where the federal government’s response was inadequate.

The former presidential candidate contrasted Nigeria’s situation with international examples, highlighting the compassionate leadership displayed by leaders in India and South Africa in response to crises.

He stressed that Nigeria needs leaders who understand the value of human life and are accountable.

Obi concluded that Nigeria requires more than just a president; it needs a leader with the four Cs. Until leaders are chosen based on these principles, the cycle of pain and stagnation will persist.
