Ondo Backs Tinubu 2027: Aiyedatiwa Pledges Stronger Support for Second Term

In a show of solidarity and appreciation, the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged the state’s unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027. The Governor made this declaration when he received a courtesy visit from the state, local government, and ward coordinators of a political group, The Lucky Guy, at the Government House in Akure.

According to Governor Aiyedatiwa, the economic reforms implemented by President Tinubu have significantly increased the revenue of states, enabling them to embark on more development projects for the benefit of their citizens. He noted that states are no longer forced to borrow to finance projects or pay salaries, thanks to the increased fiscal capacity.

The Governor expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for the unprecedented federal presence and support in Ondo State, including infrastructure projects and appointments. He cited the dualization of the Ore-Ondo-Akure road, the establishment of the Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital, and the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as examples of the federal government’s commitment to the state’s development.

> “We have no reason as a state not to give our utmost support to the re-election of Mr. President in 2027,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated. “In 2023, Ondo State gave him the highest vote percentage with 69% of the total votes. This time around, in 2027, we are ready to do much more than that.”

The Governor commended The Lucky Guy group for their innovation, dedication, and intellectual engagement in the state’s development journey. He charged them to remain sincere, loyal, and truthful in their dealings, while working as ambassadors of progress in their respective communities.

Earlier, the Convener of The Lucky Guy, Hon. MoyinOlorun Ogunwumiju, disclosed that the group was formed to promote the political leadership and ideals of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He expressed the group’s readiness to work for the upcoming “Asiwaju Datiwa 2027 project” and mobilize more people to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots level.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in the group’s potential to contribute meaningfully to governance through public sensitization, unity, and strategic support. He urged members of the group to mobilize more people to join the APC, especially at the grassroots, ahead of the next general elections.

With this declaration, Ondo State has become one of the first states to publicly endorse President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The move is seen as a significant boost to the President’s chances of securing a second term in office.
