Edo Senator Neda Imasuen Dumps Labour Party for APC

Senator Neda Bernard Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has explained his recent defection from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Imasuen cited uncertainties within his former party and a desire to secure more government presence and development projects for his constituents.

In an interview, Imasuen emphasized his commitment to improving infrastructure and employment opportunities in Edo State. His decision to join the APC was reportedly influenced by his relationship with Governor Monday Okpebholo, with whom he shares a past working experience in the Senate.

Imasuen’s defection was marked by a symbolic tent-pitching event with APC members and supporters. The senator’s move is seen as a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, given the current dynamics between the APC and Labour Party.
