Nigerian Army Swells it’s Ranks with 6,195 New Trainees

The Nigerian Army is bolstering its ranks with 6,195 newly trained soldiers, part of the 88th Regular Recruit Intake, who have completed six months of rigorous training at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria. Initially, 6,450 candidates began the program in January, but 255 were unable to finish.

These fresh recruits will play a crucial role in enhancing the army’s operational readiness and manpower needs.

They are expected to be deployed across various operational zones nationwide to tackle security challenges, including terrorism and banditry.

Under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, the new soldiers will undergo specialized training tailored to their areas of assignment.

This training aims to equip them with the necessary skills to function effectively in their roles.

The passing-out parade, where Lt.-Gen. Oluyede will review the new recruits, marks a significant milestone in their transition to active duty.

With their deployment, the Nigerian Army is poised to strengthen its capacity to address existential threats and maintain national security.
