Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Prays for Divine Intervention on Meeting Goals

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is organizing series of prayers and fasting sessions to seek divine intervention for national protection and food security.

The ministry’s Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Adedayo Modupe O., signed a memo dated June 11, 2025, inviting all staff members to participate in these spiritual sessions.

The prayer sessions, themed “Divine Intervention for Protection and National Development,” aim to support the government’s efforts to achieve food security. They will take place at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on June 16, 23, and 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. Staff members are requested to attend in a fasting state on these days.

This initiative underscores the ministry’s acknowledgment of both strategic and spiritual approaches in addressing Nigeria’s food security challenges. With a projected emphasis on collective spiritual reflection, the ministry hopes to garner divine guidance for its efforts to ensure a stable and sustainable food system across the country.

The move has generated reactions from Nigerians, with some likely viewing it as a creative solution to the nation’s food security crisis.

While the prayer sessions may provide spiritual support, experts suggest that evidence-based strategies such as enhanced irrigation and subsidies will also be crucial in addressing the country’s food security issues.
