Kanu’s Smuggled Secret Radio Biafra Transmitter Exposed

The Federal High Court in Abuja has been presented with shocking evidence of how Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), allegedly smuggled a radio transmitter into Nigeria, concealing it within household items.

According to a witness from the Department of State Services (DSS), the transmitter was brought into the country without declaration to the Nigeria Customs Service and was hidden at the residence of one Benjamin Madubougu in Ihiala, Anambra State.

The witness, identified as Mister DDD, testified that Kanu used the transmitter to incite violence and broadcast secessionist messages against the Nigerian state.

The court was shown a video recording of Kanu inspecting the transmitter, in which he allegedly praised it as a “game changer” and referred to it as a “nuclear weapon for Biafra”.

The prosecution counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo, led the witness in evidence, and the court admitted several pieces of evidence, including a certified copy of the search warrant issued by the Ihiala Chief Magistrate Court on October 28, 2015.

The video recording was also tendered and admitted, despite initial objections by the defence team led by Onyechi Ikpeazu.

The witness’s testimony and the evidence presented in court have shed light on the alleged activities of Kanu and the IPOB, and the court’s decision to admit the evidence has significant implications for the ongoing trial.

The case is expected to continue, with further testimony and evidence to be presented in the coming days.
