Activist Omoyele Sowore Threatens Legal Action Over National Award Speculation

Omoyele Sowore, a prominent activist and convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, has cautioned that he will take President Bola Tinubu to court for defamation if his name is included in any national honours list.
In a statement posted on his social media handles, Sowore expressed strong opposition to the idea of receiving a national award from the current administration, citing his criticisms of the government’s policies and leadership style.
“If I’m mistakenly included, I’ll not only reject it, but also pursue legal action,” he declared.
As a vocal critic of the government, Sowore has frequently accused the administration of corruption, poor governance, and suppressing civil liberties.
His warning underscores his commitment to holding the government accountable and his refusal to accept any recognition that might be perceived as legitimizing the administration’s actions.
