Jonathan Disavows Enigmatic Instagram Post Regarding 2027 Presidential Bid

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has unequivocally disassociated himself from an enigmatic Instagram post concerning the 2027 presidential election.
An Instagram account, ostensibly bearing the former president’s name, asserted that the nation’s current leaders were “slumbering.”
The post exhorted Nigerians to make discerning leadership choices during the forthcoming 2027 elections.
“As our current leaders feign slumber, we beseech that we may reclaim exemplary leadership in 2027; your choice will dictate the enhancement of our future,” the post declared.
Accompanying the post was an image, seemingly generated by artificial intelligence, depicting Jonathan shaking hands with United States President Donald Trump, with music resonating in the background.
The post has amassed over 16,000 views, 1,247 comments, and 248 shares.
The post emerges amidst speculations that Jonathan, who held the presidency from 2010 to 2015, is contemplating a re-election bid in 2027.
Upon inquiry on Friday, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan’s spokesperson, affirmed that the former president does not possess an Instagram account.
“Former President Jonathan does not own an Instagram account,” Eze conveyed to TheCable.
Since his departure from office in 2015, Jonathan has been the subject of persistent conjecture—some originating from his own circle—regarding a potential re-election pursuit.
Nonetheless, Jonathan, who graciously conceded defeat to former President Muhammadu Buhari in a historic election, has consistently upheld a dignified demeanor, championing democratic values and peace-building endeavors throughout West Africa.
