Plane Crash: Tinubu Condoles with Prime Minister Modi, Air India Tragedy Victims

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed profound sorrow and shock regarding the catastrophic crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad, resulting in numerous fatalities.

 

Through a condolence message delivered by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu extended his heartfelt sympathies to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government, and the people of India.

 

The ill-fated flight was reported to have carried two pilots, 10 cabin crew members, 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian.

 

President Tinubu characterized the incident as a harrowing disaster and offered prayers for the victims, the injured, and their families during this “moment of grief.”

 

“The tragedy of Air India serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility and the shared humanity that unites us,” Tinubu remarked.

 

He also expressed condolences to the governments and citizens of Great Britain, Portugal, and Canada for the loss of their nationals.

 

“In this time of sorrow and anguish, Nigeria stands in solidarity with our friend, brother, and partner, Narendra Modi, and the people of India,” he declared.

 

“Nigeria also extends deep sympathies to the families and friends of the other victims aboard the aircraft.”

 

President Tinubu lauded the prompt response of Indian emergency services, expressing confidence in their capability, professionalism, and compassion to navigate the complex situation effectively.

 

He concluded by praying for the repose of the souls of the departed and for solace and fortitude for their grieving families.
