London-bound Air India Flight 171 With 242 Onboard Crashes After Take-off

A devastating plane crash has occurred in Ahmedabad, India, claiming the lives of 242 people on board Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner bound for London Gatwick.

 

The aircraft, carrying 242 people, including 53 British nationals, crashed into a residential area shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

 

According to reports, the plane, which was said to have departed at 1:38 pm local time, reached an altitude of approximately 625 feet before descending rapidly.

 

Witnesses described seeing a massive fireball erupt on the horizon after the plane momentarily disappeared from view.

 

Emergency services, including firefighters and ambulances, rushed to the scene to combat the blaze and search for survivors.

 

According to sources, all 242 people on board are feared dead, except for one British national who reportedly survived the crash.

 

The crash site is a densely populated residential area, with the plane crashing into a doctors’ hostel and a canteen at BJ Medical College, causing significant damage and loss of lives.

 

The Indian Health Ministry confirmed multiple fatalities, but the exact number is still unknown. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
