FCT Announces Road Closure on Apo-Wasa Road, Shows Alternative Routes

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has announced a temporary road closure on Apo-Wasa Road in Abuja.

The road will be closed to vehicular movement on Friday between 11am and 4pm to facilitate President Bola Tinubu’s visit to commission the newly completed Left-Hand Service Carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway Stage II.

The commissioning ceremony is scheduled to take place at 2:30pm on Friday. In a show of solidarity, traders, mechanics, and shop owners at the Apo Mechanic Village have voluntarily agreed to shut down operations for the day and will resume business on Saturday.

The FCT Administration has urged motorists to use alternative routes during the road closure and assured that traffic enforcement personnel will be deployed to ease movement and minimize disruption.

The administration appeals to road users affected by the temporary closure to bear with the government while using alternative routes.

President Tinubu is expected to formally inaugurate the road project, marking a significant milestone in the development of Abuja’s infrastructure.

The road project stretches from Ring Road I Junction to Wasa Junction and is part of the government’s efforts to improve the city’s transportation network.
