Ubuntu Sister For All Foundation Embarks on Advocacy Visit to Bauchi Communities

In a bid to empower vulnerable women and alleviate poverty in the Bauchi local government area, the Ubuntu Sisters for All Foundation (USAF) has embarked on an advocacy visit to several communities.
The non-governmental organization aims to identify women who will benefit from its upcoming skills acquisition scheme.
According to the executive director of USAF, Mrs. Helen Daniel, the visit is part of the organization’s efforts to create awareness about the proposed scheme and identify women who are in dire need of support.
Mrs. Daniel stated that women in the identified communities, including Wurogobbo, Kafin-Tafawa, Angwan Kanawa, and Birshi Gandu, require urgent intervention to overcome the current economic hardship that has affected their standard of living.
The USAF executive director noted that similar interventions by the organization in Rafin-Zurfi, Yelwa, and Angwan-Ngas last year yielded positive results. Seventy women who were trained by the NGO received working tools in their area of specialization, which helped them to overcome poverty.
Mrs. Daniel expressed gratitude to the Development Exchange Centre (DEC) Bauchi for its support and urged other organizations, such as WaterAid, UNICEF, and Bauchi State Microfinance, to collaborate with USAF to combat poverty in vulnerable communities.
In a show of support, the leader of one of the women’s groups, Mrs. Priscilla Ocholi of Empowered Women Wealthier Community Rafin-Zurfi, pledged to mobilize women to acquire skills of their choice. She assured that her group would work with USAF to reverse the trend of endemic poverty ravaging households.
The advocacy visit is a significant step towards empowering women and promoting economic growth in the Bauchi local government area. With the support of partner organizations, USAF aims to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable women and contribute to the fight against poverty in the region.
As the organization moves forward with its skills acquisition scheme, it is expected that more women will be empowered to take control of their economic lives and improve their standard of living.
The success of this initiative will not only benefit the women involved but also have a positive impact on their families and the community at large.
